Reaction: Effectively Communicating Numbers

I like that the article starts out with a "good enough," example with the radar chart, but says that it's not the best because it unnecessarily complicates the message. "Keep it simple stupid," is a good message. However, I must not be good at visualizations yet, because I thought about a simple table, but I liked the radar chart more when I saw it.

The steps that the author gives for creating a visualization seem intuitive, but too simplistically designed. "Determine the best means to encode the values," for example, seems like it could be broken down more, but I'll have to explain that a little more later...
