Reaction: Effectively Communicating Numbers

Effectively Communicating Numbers presents a basic guide to representing data using graphs and charts. While the paper is informative, I would like to see more in-depth techniques to representing complex data, especially in the area where it relates to art. I believe the appeal of the visualization can sometimes play a big role in helping the user understand complex data. Had the author present examples or theories in this area, the paper would of been much more intersting. Overall, the paper present some basic examples of the kind of visualization used in a business environment but failed to elaborate on other interesting aspects that extends beyond the business realm.
