Reading: (Interaction) A Review of Overview+Detail, Zooming, and Focus+Context Interfaces

I believe this article may be the most relevant so far to exactly what we're doing with our visualizations, if we can only accomplish something fairly basic. This is very useful information about providing an overview and data, and drilling down into finer details. The idea that a visualization can offer a seamless, continuous view of the data while drilling down, and that sometimes this is the best approach, is good to help organize our projects. The note about animation is appreciated. There's a lot of information here that I can agree with as a "consumer" of visualizations, and/or that seems obvious after reading it.
