The authors have listed out commonly carried out tasks in analyzing graph visualizations. The basic features of graphs have been presented with a taxonomy of tasks involved in understanding the data presented in the form of graphs. The example tasks provided are mainly from a social network perspective. This helped me clearly understand how graphs are used to model a social network.
In my opinion, the author could have provided a detailed explanation of the degree of centrality.This is a very important concept in social networks and it would have been interesting to learn the various metrics that need to be considered while determining the degree of centrality.This paper can be a good starting point towards understanding more detailed concepts in representing a social network and analyzing it.
