People Movin (http://peoplemov.in/) allows us to visualize the migration flows across the world.
The left hand side column indicates the emigration countries. The right hand side column indicates the migration countries. The thickness of the lines connecting the countries represents the amount of immigrated people.
One limitation is that the webpage doesn’t indicate what the color scheme means. However, the author of the webpage mentioned in a forum that the hotter the color, the more migrations have happened in that country.
The data used was collected from the following sources:
Migration Data:
The World Bank Open Data (http://data.worldbank.org/)
Bilateral Migration and Remittances 2010 (http://econ.worldbank.org)
World Population Data:
U.S. Census Bureau, International Data Base (http://www.census.gov/)
