Tool: Many Eyes - from IBM

Many Eyes is a very simple online visualization tool designed by the IBM Cognos group at the IBM Visual Communications Lab. It was developed in 2005 by Martin Wattenberg and Fernanda ViƩgas. It is hosted on the IBM servers and allows users to login and create visualizations by way of uploading their own data sets or using existing ones uploaded by other users.
Many Eyes allows users to analyze text, compare a set of values or see relationship between data points. This is done by providing representations like word trees or clouds, simple bar charts, pie charts, scatter plots, tree maps, etc.
One of the major advantages of this viz tool is that its free for use by the public. The public sharing element, the resulting feedback makes it popular. It is also very easy to use. A very sophisticated visualization can be built within a matter of minutes.
