This is the data for the crime spotting visualization provided by me earlier.
This data is provided by the Oakland police department to the common public to make them aware of their surroundings. The data is available in the form of an Excel sheet(.xls). The data is available by crime type, crime period and specific geographic boundary.
The Excel sheet contains the following columns- crime type, date-time, case-number, description and the address.
Although this data is provided by the police department, it is still not hundred percent accurate as their may be instances when the crime was not reported on time or it was not reported at all.
But still this data gives a common man some rough idea about his/her neighborhood.
