Reaction: Over Two Decades of Integration-Based, Geometric Flow Visualization

This paper, specifically the first section of this paper, provides a nice overview of visualization techniques for vector fields and fluid flows and allows a quick access to papers describing more specific techniques in much greater detail. Unfortunately, the one thing this paper does not do is describe, in some detail, both the actual technical algorithms used to generate the visualizations, nor show many of the visualizations themselves. As an html based article, it would have been worthwhile to have at least one example of an animated fluid flow embedded into the paper.

Additionally, only having read the first section, I am left feeling that I did not receive a full overview of the techniques currently available (EDIT: I read the whole article and it does indeed provide much more insight into these forms of fluid flow.). It would also be useful to have the definitions toward the beginning of the paper so that anyone unfamiliar with vector fields can have a slight overview of them before diving into vector fields.
